GSK volunteer day

GSK’s mission of helping people to do more, feel better and live longer can be achieved not just through our medicines, vaccines and consumer products but also through our involvement with local communities. Many employees are already active volunteers, but GSK want to encourage all employees to get involved in helping their community through volunteering opportunities. GSK supports this with our GSK Day initiative which gives every GSK employee a day to volunteer.

Below are a number of organisations GSK employees volunteered with in Ireland in the last year:

  • Barretstown
  • The Joe Kavanagh Foundation
  • Irish Cancer Society
  • Our Lady’s Hospice Harolds Cross & Blackrock

A team from GSK volunteered their gardening skills for one day in Our Lady’s Hospice. “The gardens of Blackrock Hospice contribute greatly to the atmosphere and environment enjoyed by our patients and their families. Having the enthusiastic support of GlaxoSmithKline has made a fantastic difference to our work”. Suzanne Johnston, Our Lady’s Hospice.
